A good story from a Messy Church that has only just begun at Albany Church. We had 39 attend (including helpers) – 20 were regulars to our Sunday Service, 14 were friends and family of members and 5 were totally new to us. One of the new adults we were able to pray for in the middle of Messy Church as she was someone facing a difficult situation. Then there was a dad and his young daughter. They were invited in as they passed by, said they couldn’t stay but ended up being almost the last to go! It was a successful first day and hopefully something we can build on. It was fun and the message of God’s love was shared in a simple way. I think that word of mouth will be the way we will grow. Hopefully too, we might have some of the Cubs and Beavers families, and some of the Rainbow Club too, come along eventually. One way of looking at it is that we had double our average Sunday service attendance. We all enjoyed the experience of working together, so I think it is good for us as a church

Super storytelling with Superbook Academy
25th Mar 2025Messy Church is a place where people of all ages encounter Jesus in a creative, welcoming, and engaging environment. Feed the Birds!
4th Mar 2025Consider the ravens: they do not sow or reap; they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Luke 12:24 (NIV). I was inspired after our Messy Church Goes Wild session, ‘Wild on the Wing’, to dig into the Messy Church value of ‘hospitality’ and see if I could welcome more birds into my suburban London garden.
