Sarah’s big day out at Big Church Festival

On Friday 22nd August I had the absolute joy of taking this partnership one step further by joining with Street Child on their exhibition stand at the Big Church Festival. I left home bright and early to make sure that I got to the festival in time to see Street Child organise the 5k morning run. I was greeted with a sea of orange as over 200 people ran a course around the site, raising awareness for the incredible work that Street Child do in helping the world’s most vulnerable children who have been affected by war, natural disasters and poverty, providing safe spaces for children to play and be given the care they need.

Together we continued the theme of play by setting up Messy Church activities in the expo, encouraging people to come by and chat about the work of Street Child while engaging in one of the creative ideas from the Street Child session in Get Messy! Vol. 3; friendship bracelet making! It was a true test of my bracelet-making skills as I spent the day connecting with people of all ages, getting the opportunity to tell them more about the work of Messy Church and Street Child. What a great day!
