The material also includes the key Christian festivals: Harvest – compassion written by our friends at the charity Street Child, Christmas – generosity; Easter – courage; and Pentecost – community.
Everything you need to run your Messy Church, including activity photos, mealtimes discussion starter cards, social action ideas and downloadable templates from the Messy Church website.
We are delighted to work in partnership with FLOURISH, the Church of England initiative to plant new worshipping communities in schools. If you work in a school setting and are looking for Collective worship material, we recommend the BRF Resource Hub, a one-stop shop for free tried and tested ideas from over 20 years of working in primary RE (Barnabas in Schools). To help save time, we’ve created a webpage https://www.messychurch.brf.org.uk/flourish/brf-resource-hub-get-messy-topics/ listing Collective Worship and classroom ideas that complement each Get Messy! vol. 3 session.
As part of the FLOURISH initiative, iSingPOP, Out of the Ark Music and Worship for Everyone (Nick and Becky Drake) have provided song suggestions for each session. Out of the Ark Music have even created a webpage, kindly gifting us their song suggestions all in one place. We hope all ages enjoy learning new worship songs together.
We have a special treat in store for January’s 2026 session on ‘perseverance’. Our Australian Messy friends have worked in partnership with Andrew McDonough, creator of ‘Cecil the Lost Sheep’. Andrew has created a webpage, accessed via a QR code, so that Messy Churches can download ppt slides of his story to use during the celebration, gifting us his resource – amazing!
Available in print or in a new format as a digital eBook. Please note that you cannot print copies from an eBook. You can also download individual sessions as a pdf for £2.99 each.

Messy Togetherness Revised and Updated Edition £9.99
Why do more and more people advocate the idea that the generations should explore faith together, and what does the Bible have to say about this? How does this fit with our inherited model of age-related groups for learning and discipleship? And is it really practical and possible to have an experience of church where the youngest to the oldest share the same meeting space, service theme and time to worship? Edited by Aike Kennett-Brown, in Messy Togetherness Martyn Payne discusses Messy Church as an intergenerational expression of church and the benefits of this to the church community. He explores current thinking about faith development and gives a biblical rationale for the all-age approach, offering practical advice and sharing stories and ideas from across the Messy Church network. Chris Barnett provides a brand-new chapter on being intentionally intergenerational at Messy Church, with some top tips in how to get started. Includes three complete outlines for exploring this theme with your Messy Church. If you missed out on our ‘All Together’ conference, this is the book to read!
Available in print or as a digital eBook (please note that you cannot print copies from an eBook).
