You may remember that back in December 2024, we shared the news that BRF Ministries’ Messy Church had been granted funding by the Church of England’s People and Partnerships Board for an innovative research project that embodies our ‘all ages’ vision and commitment. This project, known as Messy Momentum, has two main goals:
- To support and enable Messy Churches across the country to grow their engagement with young people through piloting innovating new approaches both within existing Messy Churches and through new worshipping communities.
- To enable the Messy Church team to support and mentor 300 Church of England churches, including those in recognised areas of poverty and deprivation, as they start their own Messy Churches.
It has been an exciting few weeks in the Messy Church team as we have welcomed three new team members to join us and to help deliver Messy Momentum. Nina Seaman has joined the team as Messy Church Administrator, Sophie Harber has joined us as the Youth Project Lead, and Sarah Smart has joined the team as Network Development Lead. You can read all about our new team members on the Messy Church website here and you’ll be able to meet them and hear more about Messy Momentum at the Conference in June – book now to avoid disappointment!
We’re so excited to see how Messy Momentum grows and develops over the next few months as we innovate, collaborate and experiment with a variety of new approaches, with the ultimate goal of reaching out to more people of all ages with the love of God.
We’d love for you to join us on this journey so if any of the plans for Messy Momentum resonate with you, please get in touch for more details (messychurch@brf.org.uk). Please continue to pray for us as a team, as we get to know each other and begin to put plans in place for taking Messy Momentum forward.
