We invited Messy Church teams to let us know how they’d been celebrating Easter.

We had this large banner made and the children glued on confetti pieces. We are keeping it up until Pentecost behind the platform and after that it will be placed somewhere else in the building.

We built and made a tomb (about 3ft high), which we then planted up with flowers during the service on Good Friday, ready for rolling the boulder away and opening the tomb on Easter Sunday.

We made beautiful celebrate new life through the risen Lord – Easter wreaths. It was a special extra Messy Church – mid week- during the Easter school Holidays just after Easter Sunday. Lots of discussions around the craft table – about symbols of new life and how Jesus gives us a new life. The butterfly in the middle actually spins with a little blow.

Wow… what an amazing Easter Celebration we have had today at Messy Church in the Boldons. We heard the story of Holy Week and the joyful news of Jesus being alive on the first Easter morning. We had our Easter egg hunt outside in the garden too (with thanks to Asda for gifting us 20 eggs). It was lovely to welcome familiar faces and new ones too.
